On the 4th May 1978, a young man named Altab Ali aged 25 was Murdered by 3 young white men on Whitechapel High Road. More than 40 years on, the Borough of Tower Hamlets commemorates this day every year; remembering Mr Ali and the fight against racism during the 1970’s.
